  • So much faster and and better then Photoshop

    By Jorisx
Always used Adobe Photoshop but since their subscription and crashing releases been looking for an alternative. Affinity Photo and Design is exactly what i was looking for. The software feels solid, is fast and is a pleasure to use. Both on Mac and iPad! Amazing!
  • Say Goodbye, Adobe! 'Goodbye Adobe!'

    By VirginiaRoseATL
Started using Photo as a beta and it has never disappoin ted, even at its humble beginnings. Each build is stronger and better. Thank you, Affinity. I have the whole suite!
  • no unicode support for East Asian language

After many years, it still does not support unicode for East Asign language. I have to switch to Photoshop

  • So Much Better Than Photoshop

    5
Photoshop stopped working after the Mac 10.15 upgrade and I was dreading having to purchase a subscription that would cost $20 per month for an upgrade. I waited until I absolutely needed the program, then at the last minute decided to do a little research on comparable programs. Discovered Affinity Photo and am so glad I did. At $50 it's a steal. If you've worked with Photoshop, you can almost immediately use Affinity. Plus, Affinity is better and more intuitive. I feel like I won the lottery today!
  • Missing WebP export format

    By Tomcat-2011
Nice app with a beautiful UI and interesting options, but it needs to be able to keep with modern formats and options to be competitive. Still is playing catch with other software options. WebP is widely use nowdays for mobile development and web design, so is really strange that Affinity doesn't support this format.

  • Wow! Bye Bye Ps

    5
I've been looking for a Ps relplacement for a while now and chose Affinity Photo. All I can say is I wish I made the switch sooner! I am just blown away by the power, functionality, and ease of use! It didn't take more than a day to jump right in and realize how awesome this software really is! Not to mention, they have the best in class video tutorials right on their website! And the price! This is the deal of a lifetime!
  • How is Adobe still in business!!???

    By Joeru17
I've been a professional photo editor for over 15 years. The editor of choice for the majority of that time was Ps. I've also used Lr and Corel. a few months ago, I was over at a friends house when I noticed one of his kids was editing her vacation photos using Affinity Photo. She knew her way around the program quite well. So I (somewhat arrogantly, I must admit) began challanging her to perform a number of edits I thought the program wouldn't be capable of doing. I quicky learned that Affinity isn't an editor to take lightly. I realized, my arrogance had gotten in my way all these years, assuming Adobe PhotoShop was the best editing program. I was wrong. I purchase Affinity Photo and Designer recently, complete satisfaction. Left Adobe in the rearview with no intent of going back. Affinity has the quality and capabilities of Ps, in my opinion. It's even easier to use on the Mac compared to Ps. Not to mention, at a fraction of the cost. For all the pros and casual photo editor's out there I can assure you Affinity Photo and Affinity Designer will do nothing less than impress. Best purchase I've made for my business in a long time. My wife and eldest daughter already use it to for their own photos and projects. Best bang for the buck. But not factoring in the awesome price, still absolutely astonishing capabilities and end-user performance. Best of luck to you all and sorry for the long review. I get excited when I win big lol.
  • Great - BUT *only* when it saves your work

    By willnotburn
Paired with Photos, you spend precious time editing photos, save them and then, poof - you go back to Photos to find the original. This is unacceptable.Don't tell me I did something wrong. I went back and tried closing it with and without saving, following prompts or manually quitting. Changes are always dropped. I wound up exporting images and having to manually restore metadata.

  • I Must Be Dumb

    By Ben Kenon
I just can’t wrap my head around Affinity. Lightroom & Photoshop? I taught myself what I needed to know. Affinity on the other hand- did they make this app confusing on purpose? I would almost prefer that to the possibility that the interface they’ve created is the best they could do. They ought to implement a “simple” interface option that shows common adjustments (sharpness, noise, colors, etc.) and hides the rest, until or unless I want it.If I could figure out how to export images I would tell you what I think of the actual photo editing itself, but I can only export to Files, not Photos, and everything I export just shows as a white box. So, if you want white boxes inside of the Affinity folder in your Files, then this is the app for you. What. Is. Happening?Like I said, I must be dumb, but this app is not for me. And probably not for you either, if you’re just looking for a Lightroom replacement on iPad.
  • CRASH. CRASH. CRASH. WHAT???

    By D>
First few images RAW I’ve worked on keep crashing over and over. I have to search all over again in Photos to find the image I was working (um CRASHING as no work can be done with Affinity iPad)What is going on??? iPad mini 5, RAW .nef files from Z6. I feel like I wasted my money!
  • Awesome app

    By My review here
Needs improvement in :- stability- HSL filter works weird, not like photoshop- crashes from time to time- exporting could use some improvement- sometimes the app crashes and you lose all your progressMissing features: - being able to delete a whole project folder - options to export a whole project instead of doing one photo at a time- trash folder, just in case you delete something by mistake- option to upload multiple photos at a time- option to create your own macro from the iPad app- option to set up filters and tools in the order you desire.- app should be able to use same fonts installed on the iPad instead of having to load fonts to the app.
  • Powerful and feature rich.

    By copisetic
As of November 2019 my iPad Pro and iPad os 13xxx, this app is a game changer. I have used photoshop for years and still do, but on my iPad Pro this is my goto app. It does a wonderful job on my landscape photography. It’s fast and easy for me to use.
  • Crashes continuously on Mini 5

    By MC Style
Everytime I’m trying to edit a photo, this app crashes. Trying to edit a raw file from my canon camera and after a few edits the app freezes up and crashes.
  • Seems capable WISH I COULD FIGURE IT OUT

    By BadDomino5
Yeah this app seems pretty usable. I just wish it wasn’t so backwards to try to figure out how to do simple operations.I’m talking about simple cut and paste from one project to another operations.Maybe I’m an idiot. The simple never know, I guess.

Most things don’t do what they’re supposed to. Don’t waste your money.
  • Superior to Photoshop for iPadOS in just about every way.

    By splashofcolor
This app has all of the key functionality that is part of my image retouching workflow (and so much more). I can process raw files, color correct images, make numerous adjustments and use advanced retouching techniques (like split frequency healing, alpha channel dodge and burn using curves adjustment layers, frequency separation sharpening, etc.). These are some of the techniques I use to give my work a polished, professional look that can easily be done in Affinity Photo. I haven’t even gotten into using this app for art, illustration and surface design. When used as a complement to Procreate, the possibilities for raster-based creative work are pretty endless. And, there’s no need to pay for a ridiculous subscription model that most artists don’t want. Affinity Photo, like Procreate and Art Studio Pro, is a one-time purchase. This app is superior to Photoshop for iPad in just about every way - features, functionality and price. Why pay an overpriced subscription for a watered-down version of Photoshop that lacks some of the most basic functionality? $10 for Affinity Photo on sale is a steal! $20 is still a bargain. I’m very happy with my purchase!
